Cerro del Águila HPP delivers new multipurpose building in the community of Andaymarca

The Cerro del Aguila Hydroelectric Power Plant delivered the new multipurpose building to the rural community of Andaymarca located in the district of Andaymarca, Huancavelica. The finished work is the result of a joint effort between the Community Board of Directors and the private company.

This important contribution will benefit more than 1,700 residents, including children, adults and senior citizens, who now have the modern infrastructure to participate in social, cultural and educational meetings, as well as neighborhood meetings.

Previously, the villagers carried out their activities in a small building that was more than 50 years old. Now, the new community center built in the main square of the Andaymarca district, with a total area of 36.5 m2 and a modern infrastructure with two floors, basement and toilets, is a work that will contribute to the development of the community.

“The Shared Social Management model allows for the participation of all key stakeholders responsible for contributing to positive impact initiatives for our direct areas of influence,” said Luis Alburqueque, Cerro del Aguila’s Social Responsibility Manager. The handover ceremony was held in the presence of representatives of the local authorities of Andaymarca and the rural community, as well as representatives of the hydroelectric power plant and the general population.

Cerro del Aguila, as part of its Social Responsibility policy, reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing to sustainable development in the district of Andaymarca, through its Shared Social Management model, which involves the State, civil society and the company.
