Cerro del Águila HPP delivers dump truck for the district of Salcabamba

To contribute to the development of the district of Salcabamba, located in the province of Tayacaja, Huancavelica, the Cerro del Aguila Hydroelectric Power Plant delivered a new dump truck that will be used to perform various municipal services for the benefit of 3,800 inhabitants.

The unit will mainly help improve roads and carry out infrastructure works at a lower cost. With the improvement of local roads, families in the area will be able to move their agricultural and livestock products more quickly and easily from the districts and towns to the provincial capital and vice versa.

As part of the management in alliance with the Municipality of Salcabamba, technical visits were coordinated with suppliers in order to acquire the most suitable unit for the district. The Volvo model FMX 6×4 heavy-duty vehicle with a capacity of 17.5 m3 was purchased as part of the company’s social responsibility policy.

The mayor of Salcabamba, Yurian Yllesca thanked Cerro del Águila HPP for managing the acquisition of the truck. “We will continue working in alliance with the company to manage more projects like this one, which is a historical fact for the district,” he said.

Likewise, Luis Alburqueque, General Manager of Social Responsibility of the Hydroelectric Power Plant, pointed out that the delivery is a sign of the company’s commitment to the sustainable development of its neighboring communities. In addition, he highlighted that the joint work with the Municipality and civil society will continue to bring results for the benefit of the entire population of Salcabamba.

This contribution is the result of the continuous effort of the Cerro del Aguila Hydroelectric Power Plant to meet the demands of the communities where it is present, through its Shared Social Management model, in order to contribute to the objectives of the Salcabamba Local Development Plan and the Huancavelica region.
