Cerro del Águila HPP promotes the entrepreneurial development of women in Tayacaja

As part of its social responsibility policy, the Cerro del Aguila hydroelectric power plant has been developing initiatives to strengthen the textile skills of women in the communities of Suilloc, Quintao and Andaymarca, in the province of Tayacaja, Huancavelica, in order to contribute to their business development.

As a first action to promote local entrepreneurship, the “Weaving Dreams and Hopes” fair was successfully held. During the event held in the Andaymarca district square, the beneficiaries exhibited and promoted their products, thus achieving their first sales, the result of the weaving workshop that benefits 64 women from the three communities.

At the same time, the “Cutting and Dressmaking Workshop” was launched in favor of the Andaymarca Association of Enterprising Mothers, which supports 16 participants, who are provided with facilities equipped with everything necessary for learning techniques from basic to advanced levels, and who will also receive a certificate at the end of the course.

Through these social projects, the beneficiaries have the opportunity to start businesses to market quality fabrics and garments at the national level, with the objective of generating their own income, thus contributing to the economy of their families and their locality.

Luis Alburqueque, Social Responsibility Manager of the Hydroelectric Power Plant, highlighted the importance of these business development initiatives that allow women in the community to improve their quality of life by boosting the economy of their families.

The activities were carried out in the presence of authorities of the District Municipality of Andaymarca, representatives of the Cerro del Aguila hydroelectric power plant and the communities mentioned above, where the beneficiaries expressed their future plans with enthusiasm and hope.

The Cerro del Aguila Hydroelectric Power Plant is proud of the effort and dedication of the enterprising women of the province of Tayacaja and reaffirms its commitment to continue carrying out actions that contribute to the sustainable development of the Huancavelica region.
