The long-distance runner Zaida Dina Ramos Acevedo, from Salcabamba, Tayacaja in the department of Huancavelica, was crowned the winner of the Lima 42K Half Marathon 2025, this Sunday May 25th. Finishing in 1h 10m 5s, she set a new national record in the 21-kilometer distance.

Ramos surpassed high-level runners the day of the marathon with more than 20 thousand participants, an event that covered Lima’s emblematic avenues and is considered the most important one in the national athletic calendar.

“This achievement represents where I come from, my roots, and every single woman who fights for their dreams from the regions” expressed the champion after crossing the finish line.
In addition, Zaida thanked her trainer, her community in Huancavelica and Kallpa Generación, company that operates the Hydroelectric Power Plant Cerro del Águila, who has supported her development as an athlete.

“Zaida’s effort and discipline are an example for the entire province of Tayacaja. From Cerro del Águila we will keep promoting sports and local talent, convinced that development can be seen by creating opportunities for everyone”, expressed Luis Alburqueque, Social Management Manager.
