Hydropower Plant Cerro del Águila promotes training and productive development in Andaymarca

With the goal of contributing to the sustainable development of the Huancavelica region, the Hydropower Plant Cerro del Águila inaugurated the third edition of the Cutting, Sewing, and Pattern Making program, which will keep on empowering women and men from the district of Andaymarca, province of Tayacaja, through technical training and the strengthening of productive abilities.

In this edition, the program will benefit 20 participants from the communities of Suylloc Quintao, Andaymarca, Suilloc, Siete Héroes, Picnhiu, and Huaranhuay, providing them not only knowledge in sewing garments but also tools to begin their own business, generating incomes, and improving their family’s quality of life. Since the first edition, there have been 60 participants who have benefited from this program.

During the inauguration ceremony, which took place in Andaymarca’s District Municipality, the district mayor, Rovinzon Benites, highlighted the positive impact the program had in the local economy, given that several women for the area have been able to open their own workshops and even work in the city of Huancayo.

“With great enthusiasm we begin this new edition, convinced that it will not only provide the participants with technical knowledge, but also the opportunity to build an entrepreneurial future for their families and communities” expressed Luis Alburqueque, Social Management Manager at Kallpa.

Through these activities that promote the development of capacities, the Hydropower Plant Cerro del Águila continues to build opportunities that aid the growth of household economy in its areas of influence.
