Kallpa will have 300 MW of solar generation from the San Martín plant in Arequipa

Kallpa Generación will secure 300 MW of solar generation through a long‑term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Zelestra, the operator of the San Martín solar plant located in La Joya, Arequipa.

Indeed, Kallpa has contracted all the energy that San Martín will produce, expanding, diversifying, and strengthening its generation portfolio with non‑conventional renewable energy.

The energy generated—more than 830 GWh per year—reinforces Kallpa’s commitment to a more sustainable, reliable, and secure power supply, aligned with the country’s energy transition objectives.

Currently, Kallpa has an installed capacity of 2,237 MW, sourced from its major plants: the hydroelectric Cerro del Águila (583 MW), Carhuaquero (95 MW), and Cañón del Pato (266 MW); as well as the efficient combined cycles of Kallpa (908 MW) and Las Flores (325 MW), plus a 34 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) for Primary Frequency Regulation.

We are the energy that makes the world go round!
