As part of our commitment to education, Kallpa Generación and the Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC) awarded a scholarship as part of the “Generation of Women in TECH” program, which promotes the inclusion of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers.
The alliance between both institutions open the door for a young female student from Kallpa’s area of influence in the district of Chilca, Cañete. She obtained a full scholarship for a career in electronic engineering after passing the stages of the contest carried out by the university.
With the objective of guaranteeing the professional growth of the young talent, this benefit is a full scholarship, which covers the five years of the career, academic advising, support in the development of skills, transportation costs, housing, food, medical insurance and others.
Kallpa Generación constantly promotes quality education through positive impact initiatives that contribute to building a better country. In this opportunity, promoting greater participation of talented women who can successfully pursue STEM careers.
Luis Alburqueque, Social Responsibility Manager, emphasized that the Shared Social Management model allows for the participation of all key players, in this case the company and the university, who are responsible for contributing to increasing opportunities for access to quality education for young people in the areas of influence of the operations.
This is not the first time Kallpa has supported educational initiatives in Chilca. Previously, it provided a scholarship to a young man from the district, who is now in the final stage of his energy engineering studies and is about to celebrate his graduation ceremony.
