Kallpa Generación, the Special Development Project of the Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro River Valley -Provraem-, an entity attached to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, and the Municipality of Andaymarca, announced the development of projects that will benefit communities in the province of Tayacaja, in the Huancavelica region.
The signing of a Framework Agreement will allow the articulated management of the various investment projects developed by the different government sectors involved in the area, in order to achieve the objective of closing the existing social gaps.
Private companies and public institutions aim to promote projects such as irrigation systems, nurseries, construction of water tanks or reservoirs, avocado production and distribution, among others. Through the agreement and the projects that will be implemented under it, seven villages will benefit, among them: Andaymarca, Duraznuyoc, Suilloc, Quintao, Jatuspata, Capcas, Llocce Huatacero.
“It is very important to work in coordination with civil society and the State, as in this case Provraem and the Municipality of Andaymarca, because it allows the development of projects that have been agreed upon by all stakeholders and that respond to a comprehensive planning that allows results according to the needs of the population,” said Luis Alburqueque, Kallpa’s Social Responsibility Manager.
In addition to the Kallpa representative, the activity was attended by the Executive Director of Provraem, Joel Cusquisiban Minchan, the District Mayor of Andaymarca, Rovinzón Benites Huarcaya, as well as other authorities of the local municipality.
Kallpa, through its Cerro del Aguila Hydroelectric Power Plant, has been developing educational, health, capacity building, and infrastructure projects, among others, all within the framework of its Shared Social Management policy, with the participation of the State, civil society, and private enterprise. Kallpa reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing to the development of the province of Tayacaja.
