Cerro del Águila Hydroelectric Plant supports the start of the school year for over a thousand students in Tayacaja, Huancavelica

Students from 22 educational institutions were benefited.

The Cerro del Águila Hydroelectric Plant, in coordination with community authorities, school principals from preschool, primary, and secondary levels, as well as APAFA members from communities within its area of influence in Tayacaja, Huancavelica, implemented the “Back-to-School Campaign 2026.”

This initiative benefited 1,029 students from 22 schools across the communities of Andaymarca, Huaranhuay, Suilloc, Suilloc Quintao, and Pichiu (Andaymarca district); Llocce Huantaccero and Capcas (Colcabamba district); and Jatuspata (Surcubamba district), who received school kits to support their academic activities.

Each school kit included a complete set of educational materials and accessories: a backpack, drill hat, pencil case, notebooks, blue, red, and black pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener, rulers, colored pencils, modeling clay, scissors, and glue, along with folders and notebook covers.

Teachers and parents expressed their appreciation for the initiative, highlighting that the distribution of school kits strengthens students’ learning conditions and contributes to their educational development and future opportunities.

It is worth noting that this initiative has been carried out continuously since the construction phase of the Cerro del Águila Hydroelectric Plant in 2013, consolidating it as a sustained effort in support of education.

Through this initiative, the Cerro del Águila Hydroelectric Plant, operated by Kallpa Generación, reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the educational development of communities within its area of influence through its Shared Social Management model, which involves civil society, the State, and the private sector.
