Kallpa Generación and the Regional Government of Huancavelica move forward with the construction of a new school in Quintao through the signing of an agreement and handover of the site

The construction and equipping of I.E. No. 31027, located in the populated center of Quintao, district of Andaymarca, will be carried out under the Works for Taxes mechanism and will represent an investment of more than S/ 7.2 million.

With the aim of helping close educational infrastructure gaps in the province of Tayacaja, Kallpa Generación, operator of the Cerro del Águila Hydropower Plant, promoted the signing of an investment agreement with the Regional Government of Huancavelica to carry out the project to improve primary education services at I.E. No. 31027, located in the populated center of Quintao, district of Andaymarca. Following the recent signing of the agreement under the Works for Taxes mechanism, both institutions completed, on Tuesday, September 15, the formal handover of the site where the project will be developed. This milestone confirms that the necessary conditions have been met to begin the next stage of implementation: the preparation of the technical dossier.

With an estimated investment of S/ 7.24 million, the project will improve learning conditions and strengthen the quality of educational services in this area of Huancavelica. The project includes the preparation of the technical dossier, the construction of modern educational infrastructure, and the provision of furniture and educational equipment.

The new infrastructure will replace the old school and the temporary modules previously installed by Kallpa following the heavy rains that severely affected the classrooms. In this way, the project will provide safer and more modern spaces for the Quintao educational community, reduce the need for students to travel to other communities, and offer new opportunities for students from neighboring communities.

“With the handover of the site, we are taking a decisive step toward making this project a reality and moving closer to our goal of providing Quintao students with modern and safe educational infrastructure, in line with our commitment to promoting education as a key component in the development of Tayacaja and Huancavelica,” said Luis Eduardo Alburqueque Castro, Kallpa’s Social Management Manager.

Through this initiative, Kallpa Generación, operator of the Cerro del Águila Hydropower Plant, strengthens its Shared Social Management model, which brings together the participation of the State, the community and private companies to develop projects with a high social impact.
